active buildings – active cities
summer school 2013
The summer school of 2013 was the first in a series of summer schools in which the many facets of sustainable architecture were handled and taught. In the program, the potentials of a building envelope were examined not only within the building itself but in its surrounding neighborhood. Students learned from renowned experts in the field of sustainability and went on field trips that illustrated new sustainable trends in urban and building developments. Throughout the program, students worked on either a sustainable urban or building design for a selected site and presented their work in a “finissage” on the last day of the 2-week summer school.
